When just learning to drive, I drove the family Ford Falcon. I soon made the mistake of driving it to the service station after somebody had rear-ended me, causing the fan to chew up the radiator. In the drive back, the car overheated, the piston rings were damaged, and it was all downhill.

But Falcons were very decent cars. You could fit six moderately sized persons in the, you could, with the station wagons, haul six foot cypresses on the tail gate. You got 20 miles per gallon in a day that thought little of economy.
