One of the main reasons green coffee extract has become one of the most popular weight loss products on the market is in part due to Dr. Oz. America’s favorite TV Doctor recently aired an episode labeled, “The Miracle Bean that Burns Fat” and in the show, Dr. Oz unveiled this revolutionary new diet product that has taken the nation by storm and is proven to be one of the most powerful weight loss products.
During the show, Dr. Oz brought on weight loss expert, Dr. Lindsey Duncan. Duncan had experience with green coffee bean extract, and he described the main ingredient that causes weight loss – chlorogenic acid. As, he explained, chlorogenic acid helps burn fat in two main ways:
- Chlorogenic acid stops the liver from absorbing excess calories in our diet and storing them as fat deposits.
- Chlorogenic acid also helps to activate our body’s metabolism so that we burn more calories during exercise and while we rest.
Combined, these two mechanisms can successfully help you lose weight incredibly fast. Dr. Lindsey also went to talk about the scientific proof behind green coffee bean extract in the form of a recent clinical study. In the study, participants were given a placebo, high dose of green coffee extract, or a low dose of green coffee extract. After 22 weeks, participants lost roughly 10% of their starting body weight and lost about 16% of their total body fat.
Green Coffee Extract Weight Loss Study
Could green coffee extract be the key to your weight loss? A new research study says it could. Originally published in the LA Times, the recent clinical study completed by researchers a the University of the Scranton has generated an enormous amount of buzz about these “miracle beans.” The study conducted in March of 2012 studied the effectiveness of green coffee bean extract regarding weight loss.
In the study, participants were given a placebo, a 1,050 mg high dose green coffee extract pill, or a 750mg of low dose green coffee supplement. The participants rotated every few weeks and were not told which pill they were taking at any given time so the participants were their own control group.
After 22 weeks, researchers found that participants lost about 18 pounds on average, which is a total weight loss of about 10%. Participants also lost16% of their body fat. While the weight loss rates were not necessairly as high as other studies, what amazed researchers is the caloric intake of participants. Researchers noted that the average caloric intake of each participant was about 2,400 calories per day, which is much higher than the normal caloric intake needed for weight loss. Even more amazing was the lack of exercise among each participant, with participants only burning off about 400 calories per day from exercise.
Dr. Joe Vinson, the lead researcher determined that the main cause for the weight loss was a substance in green coffee beans called “chlorogenic acid.” Chlorogenic acid plays two primary roles in weight loss, which are:
- Clorogenic acid prevents the liver from storing fat
- Chlorogenic acid causes a dramatic increase in metabolism, sometimes up to 2-3x as fast
These two mechanisms can deliver powerful weight loss results, with some users of green coffee supplements losing 1-2% of their body weight per week. In addition to weight loss, there are numerous other benefits of green coffee bean extract as well. Plus, there are no known side effects of green coffee extract and the participants in the study did not note any side effects or health problems.
Dr. Vinson was happy with the study and is currently replicating the study with more participants as we speak. As soon as the study is published, we will post more information about it as well as any other green coffee studies that are published.
Side Effects of Green Coffee Extract
Before you try any weight loss supplement, you need to make sure that it is completely safe for you to consume. Green coffee extract, the newest diet craze to hit the market, is no exception. Green coffee has been around for ages, but it has only begun to be used for weight loss recently. Therefore, many people do not know much about it. So the question becomes are there any side effects of green coffee bean extract and if so, what are they?
Side Effects of Green Coffee Extract
If you hope to use green coffee extract for weight loss, then the good news is that research and testimonials of other users support the case that there are no green coffee extract side effects. In the green coffee extract study recently published, no participants had any allergic or adverse reactions to the green coffee extract supplements used. In fact, participants only noted experiencing many benefits of green coffee extract use.
Webmd, Dr. Oz, and the Mayoclinic further back up the safety of green coffee extract, with all three respected sources having positive information about green coffee extract being safe and effective for weight loss.
Now that you know green coffee extract is safe in itself, what about green coffee extract supplements? Are green coffee extract supplements safe?
To determine the safety of a product, you need to start by looking at the ingredients label. A safe green coffee extract product is free from fillers, which means it does not contain large doses of caffeine, other stimulants, or unnecessary ingredients. If you seen an ingredient such as gelatin, keep in mind this is largely used to create the capsule and will in no way negatively effect your health or make the product ineffective.
Second, you should look where the green coffee extract supplement is manufactured. If the supplement is made in the US or Canada, then it is most likely safe. Both Canada and the US have strict manufacturing and safety laws, so you should feel safe knowing your green coffee extract supplement was made in either country.
How to Avoid Green Coffee Extract Scams
Green coffee extract is the #1 selling diet product on the market for its’ proven weight loss benefits. However, with the sudden green coffee craze comes in a plethora of scammers trying to steal your money. It is incredibly important you do your due diligence for trying green coffee extract. Here are some things you can do to avoid green coffee extract scams:
1. Avoid Free Trials – While free trials can be great, a slew of green coffee supplements have appeared offering “free trials.” In reality, these companies will bill you for hundreds of dollars and make it incredibly difficult to cancel the charge. You may save some money initially, but you’ll pay for it in the end with your time and money.
2. Check the Price: The demand for green coffee bean extract has skyrocketed and true green coffee extract is in short supply. The lack of supplies has caused the price of green coffee extract supplements to increase. A quality green coffee supplement will cost between $30-50. Anything much cheaper than that most likely uses lab manufactured ingredients, which aren’t powerful.
3. Read the reviews: Reviews are obviously the best way to tell if a company’s product is worth trying or not. Check to see what other people are saying. Did the product work? If not, was it easy to get a refund? Were there side effects? All valid questions you need to ask.
These are three things you can do to ensure you don’t get scammed. The best thing you can do is use your common sense and look for a legitimate product like Green Coffee Pure, our #1 rated green coffee product.
